FAQ

What to Expect During Your Photo Shoot

What should I do to prepare?

  • Make sure all lights in the house are turned on.
  • Clear all clutter and unwanted objects out of the space before the photographer arrives at the property.
  • Make sure all toilet seats are down, bedspreads are smoothed down, curtains are pulled back, blinds pulled up, pet toys and dishes are put away.
  • Put all clothes in the closet, remove towels hanging on the backs of doors, hide portable fans, hide loose cords and remotes, turn off televisions.
  • Think about personal items such as family photos or eccentric paintings. Don’t want them in the photos? Make sure they are hidden or removed before the photographer arrives at the property.
  • We use drones for aerial photography of the exterior of the property, so be sure to clean up the property if necessary to make your exterior photos look as beautiful as possible
  • For best results, clean dirty or cloudy windows.
  • For best results, we strongly suggest occupants of the house not be there for the shoot. Pets should also be removed if they will obstruct the workflow of the shoot.
  • If you must be there for the shoot, be sure to stay out of the way of the camera. Due to our wide angle lenses, if you can see the camera, the camera can see you.

What should I expect?

  • Most shoots will take from 2.5 to 3.5 hours.
  • However, if you have a larger home, many special features to the property, ordered additional services, or have occupants of the house present a photo shoot can last up to 4 hours.
  • You may find some things have changed position or placement when you return home. In order to achieve the best possible results, we may hide soap dishes, slightly adjust tables or couches or chairs, and things of that sort. While we will always try to return things to the way we found them, you may notice things have shifted somewhat upon your return home.

How to Prepare For Your Cameo in Your Listing Video

What should you expect?

  • Expect our photographer to let you take the lead. We will ask you if you have a vision, what that vision is, and then complete it to the best of our ability.
  • Expect to shoot a few takes. Not everything is perfect the first time, if you fumble with your words or don’t like the way you said them, don’t worry! We just shoot another take!
  • Expect change. Sometimes we will show up to the property and there are unforeseen circumstances that may alter what we’re able to accomplish. In this case we change our course of action while still providing a property representation you can be proud of.

What should you say and what should you highlight?

  • Introduce yourself and the property! Let people know who you are and highlight the address of the property.
  • What stands out about the property? If you had to write a description what would you write? Does it have beautiful gardens? An amazing waterfront? An impressive square footage? Gorgeous hardwood floors? A lovely dock you can see from the dining room window? Is it in a good location? What’s nearby? All of these things can help you find the perfect way to describe a property.
  • Sign off at the end of the video. Leave viewers with a message or a call to action, telling them to call now to book a showing or start a new chapter of their lives!

How much time will it add to the shoot?

  • 0.5 – 2 hours
  • Every video is different and every property has different needs. Therefore, every video will differ in the time it takes to complete. A good rule of thumb is to plan for allowing extra time and being pleasantly surprised if we finish early!

Our tips for success!

  • Have fun! The best results happen when you’re enjoying yourself and have a genuine smile on your face 🙂
  • Plan ahead. If you’re the kind of person who doesn’t want to speak on the fly, plan ahead and write up some things you want to say or think about what you’re going to say beforehand.
